7 Wellness Trend Predictions for 2019.

FRIENDS,

I am making a commitment for the month of December. *pray that I can do this* I will be writing 3 blog post a week for the month of December.YES 3 POSTS A WEEK. I have so many great ideas, but I want to make sure that my posts provide value for your precious time. Unfortunately, that leaves me taking a bit to write out a post. So I am hoping this challenge will push me out of my comfort zone so I can get more juicy content out for you! 🙂
let’s dive into the health trends for 2019!!

  1. Celery Juice

I went to whole foods yesterday to look for celery juice. No where to be found.☚ But I bet by the end of next year – it will be on the Chicago suburban shelves…

Celery juice has been blowing up because of Medical medium who promotes the digestion benefits of this simple juice. Some of the benefits include: reduction of inflammation, jump starts digestion by improving liver and bile function, provides minerals to support CNS, electrolytes, and more! Check out this article on Medical Mediums site for the full explanation of celery juices healing power!

I never have been a big fan of juicing.  But I am curious to try this celery juice trend just to see what happens. Luckily,I have a juicer still (that hasn’t been used in 5 years), so I just may try it out.

2. Functional Medicine Testing

There is a BIG demand for testing and learning about your personalized body needs. People are tired of one size fits all health recommendations. People are frustrated wasting their time on things that don’t work for them. Testing bridges that gap and allows people to understand their personal body a bit more. It provides a fast track to getting better.  You could have the exact same problem, but each person needs to approach it in a different way. Health needs to be individualized and people are demanding it.

Personally, I have found it difficult to have access to these tests even though I live in the suburbs of Chicago. And TBH it is a bit intimidating because you have no idea the cost that might be associated with it.  This is one of the many reasons why I enrolled in the HTMA course.  Hair Tissue Mineral Analysis is VERY affordable test and it can provide a lot of insight to the minerals in your body.  Minerals are critical to optimize your health and investing in this simple test can really help you make better decisions. More to come in future posts….and be on the look out when I start to offer HTMA consults. Yay!

3. Drinkable Tonics.

This seems to have been the trend for a bit now with Rebbl tonics. But it is not going away anytime soon. People love to buy drinks with added benefits especially adaptogens.  But with Rebbl tonics as the main contender there is definitely room for more products!  The other day I saw a Lemon Water with Blue Majick. It was a very simple drink, but mixed in with just a bit of this blue algae wonder. Hydration + Benefits = People Buying!!

4. Eastern Medicine Systems

Western medicine has provided us a lot of benefits and lots of advanced healing.  But there is no doubt that our health system has a lot of missing gaps. Many of us are tired of covering up the problem and just living a mediocre life.  People want to learn the wisdom of our ancestors, because there is A LOT of wisdom in their health beliefs.  And what is the harm in learning these ancient methods and experimenting with how they can improve your life? That is why I have been studying a lot on Ayurveda and taking a course on Chinese Dietary Therapy.  I wrote a post here that breaks down Ayurveda so check it out here. Soon I will be writing on all about CDT so be on the look out for that article.😊

5. Authentic Health Advice.

People are sick of all the lies we have been told about fitness and nutrition from both the fitness industry and the government. They are ready for the truth and to finally understand what is holding them back from their goals.  I know it can be frustrating. A few of those lies include: focusing on eating less food, counting your calories, doing HIIT for 60 minutes (what!?), and eating processed chemical health food, and even BMI!! I will do a post about this so I can dive in deeper to these lies.  “The biggest health lies the fitness industry is telling you.” That will be a good post….

6. Detox Modalities

People love spending their money on spa activities that not only make them feel good but improve their health! I hope to see more infrared saunas, red light therapy, cryotherapy, float tanks, and vitamin shots widely available. These things are not super accessible and if you do find them – it is almost so expensive you aren’t sure if it’s a good idea to get addicted.  I honestly believe these options can make a business a lot of money especially if they offered a monthly subscription,so clients could try them all out. This would also allow the price to be more affordable.

7. Human Design

Becoming who you really are is a trend that is here to stay. I hate even calling it a trend. A big part of wellness is living your purpose and creating a life specifically catered to you.  New ideas like human design are blowing up and you will be hearing about it if you haven’t yet. The premise behind human design is that we all came to this earth with a specific design of who were meant to be in this world.  Unfolding our design can help us remember what we came here to do and how we should live. *That might sound VERY woo-woo* And i get it. haha But I believe being open minded is essential to growth and so I have looked into this idea with an open mind. I have found myself resonating with what I have discovered from my own design.  I will be writing a post about human designs basics, but I am NO expert. I learn all my information from Jenna Zoe. You can find her here. There is not a lot information out there yet as this is relatively new.

To provide a taste of HD:
There are 5 types of Human Design. Generator, Manifesting Generator, Manifestor, Projector, and Reflector. If you want to find out your design, you can go here and this website will provide you your exact human design chart. There are LOTS of details to your chart, but just understanding your basic design can be helpful on how you operate.

I am a Generator. Our job is to literally find what excites us and do that. Excitement is literally our signal to chase that thing. And doing so creates energy and spreads it out to the world.  I resonate with this so much because I have felt my energy spread to other people.  It really is quite powerful. In the pasts, I have had beliefs that *must* do something even If I have no interest in it.  For example, reading books that I don’t want to, learning topics that bore me just to stay in the know, watching shows just to stay caught up, listening to music to have a *favorite* band, all these ridiculous things we pressure ourselves to do!!! It is enough to have a panic attack! Luckily, I learned part of this lesson before falling into HD, but just this tip has given me full permission to say no to everything that doesn’t excite me.  And I don’t feel the least bit anxious about it. (because that was the other thing – my anxiety was so bad i couldn’t do anything of those things when really – all i need to do was slow down and listen to my excitement) BOOM!

Excitement is your Intuition telling you to Go in that Direction.

I could go on about everything HD, but I will save that for my Intro to HD post and I will share everything that I am learning in my own life 🙂 For now check out Jenna Zoe for all the deets and beware of the rabbit hole :O .

And that is the 7 wellness trends for 2019!! I just have to say. I am so glad wellness stuff is “trendy” because if it wasn’t so much of this would not be available.  I never guessed wellness would be this trendy back in 2008. But I remember back then how hard it was to find certain products and how I never imagined such products would come to life! It truly amazes to me to see how far we have come in the last 10 years! Here is to another 10 years in the wellness industry – so excited to see what’s next! xoxo

Your voice really comes through in your writing and it had me smiling the whole way through this. Beautifully written! I don’t think I could choke down celery juice- I swear that stuff makes my tongue tingle!! But I do love a good beet juice blend.

This was my first time seeing you online and I’m definitely a fan! Don’t stop <3

Ahh!! Thanks for the compliments Jessica!! haha I don’t think I could choke it down either haha! I am not much of a juice fan at all really! beets juice is pretty good though as long as its blended with other things. haha xox

Definitely blended!! Apparently too much beet juice is actually toxic! I was doing a hair mix with henna and beet juice, and I couldn’t find pure beet juice ANYWHERE- so I went to the Whole Foods juice bar, and they literally weren’t allowed to sell me more than 3oz of beet juice!! (Once I told them what I was doing they did but it came with a big huge warning from the manager about how serious it is to not consume too much!)

        Plants are powerful stuff!

what do you think?
