Big News & Life Updates
Hi Friends! It has been a long time since I have written a post! My life has changed so much in the last 8 months which is why I have shifted my focus from writing on here.
First, in Oct 2020, I started a new career working for a Medspa & Plastic Surgery. I am learning so much on how to run a complex business and it has really challenged me. I still don’t feel like I know much, but I am proud of how far I have come. It is an entire new world and new industry for me.
Second, at the beginning of March I found out I was pregnant! I couldn’t believe it! I feel so ready to have a baby and I really wanted a fall baby. Early November, baby girl Schrautemyer is expected to arrive!!
I am currently sitting at 24 weeks pregnant. I LOVE being in my second trimester and I enjoy being pregnant. The first trimester sucked. The 2 months of feeling like crap was not fun and I counted down the days for it to end. I have no idea how people survive first trimester while having little kids running around.
Third, we have been remodeling our entire basement and almost every area of our house since May 2020. Man, remodeling is NOT for everyone. I would never want to do this again. We are doing most of the remodel ourselves aka my husband because I am NOT handy. We have spent hours of our limited time and resources updating our house which is exciting but can be very draining and overwhelming. It has been a big mental challenge for me, but it has helped me to accept the journey. We are currently finishing up the baby room and basement flooring. But it seems that every new project ends up with new problems….lol
House Updates since May 2020:
- New Washer and Dryer
- All New Kitchen Appliances
- New Kitchen Sink
- New Kitchen Counter Tops
- New AC/Furnace
- New Basement Flooring – Ripped up Linoleum and Put in New Porcelain Tile
- New Fish Tank Set Up (300 gallon tank stand and sump)
- Ripped out all wood paneling and put up new dry wall
- Updated trim, door locks, light fixtures, and new ceiling in basement bedrooms
- Freshly painted basement
- Updated Dining Room Chandelier
- Added Electrical Wiring to 2 Bedrooms and Living Room to add Fixed Lighting
- New Basement Lights
- New Basement Curtains ( made my wonderful mother)
- Updated carpet in Baby Room and freshly painted
So to say we have a lot going on is an understatement. The end feels closer, but to be honest it isn’t really lol. We still have a long list in front of us. I have been slowly adding in home decor and working on organization projects when I can. It is a long process, but day by day we are getting closer. 🙂
I wasn’t sure where I wanted to end this post. But I think I will end with a few of my current favorite recipes/products!! (because it is always changing lol)

Current Favorite Beauty Products
Monat Soothing Micellar Shampoo
Monat Unknot Detangler
Monat Rivitalize Conditioner
These are my top 3 favorite products by Monat. I only started using since Monat in May and these products have made me a Monat customer for life. The only reason I decided to jump in was to find a safer shampoo to use during pregnancy for my scalp. I struggle with oily and itchy scalp and the only thing that was helping was dandruff shampoo with salicylic acid which is a big no-no during pregnancy. Not only does my hair NEVER itch any more, but my hair is NEVER oily. I can easily go 5+ days without washing my hair now. It is the best thing ever especially to have in my pocket before baby arrives. The detangler is also a life saver because I struggle with major hair knots that would take me hours to get out. I do not have time to be constantly brushing out knots which I eventually just gave up and lived with few dread locks, lol. Now I have a great product to get them out easily. All safe for baby and me!!!
Current Favorite Hobbies
Skillshare Classes – I love taking these for painting classes to follow along. You can easily find free trials for 3 months or so. There are so many fun classes, but its a great way to take a class right from your home whether it is painting or something else.
Books – I love reading books straight from the library app. I try to have a reading challenge every year to set a goal and then I track all my books on Good reads. I love tracking things. It really satisfies the achiever in me.
Daily Walks – I love the sunshine so I try to get it in as much as possible while the summer is here and it is a great way to get in exercise.
Okay!! That is enough for now! It has been great to catch up! Comment below with a few of your favorites right now! I would love to hear and learn from you!
xoxo
