The Unspecting Energy Killer

Are you struggling with feeling amazing and you just don’t know what could be wrong? Is your doctor telling you – you are perfectly healthy, but you still feel less than normal?

Maybe you are dealing with…

*headaches
*brain fog
*allergies
*stomachaches
*constipation
*bloating

All of these things ^^^ are NOT fun to deal with at all….and it seems like there is no easy solution to fix them.

Well, I might just have the answer for YOU! Many of these symptoms can be caused by food intolerances. Food intolerances have become more and more common. From 1997-2011, food intolerances have increased by 50%!!  If you think are one of the lucky ones to be able to eat anything with no problems, you might need to think again!

Food intolerances are not easy to pinpoint, but neither are dealing with ^^ those symptoms.
The Unspecting Energy Killer

Last year, I found out I was sensitive to eggs and it was draining my energy.(I had no idea the culprit was eggs)  I am SO glad I know now because I have more control on managing my energy. I have the choice to eat eggs if I want, but I know I won’t be able to perform at an optimal level.

The most common foods found to cause issues include:

*gluten
*dairy
*soy
*corn
*eggs
*peanuts
*tree nuts (basically all nuts)

Food sensitives can cause so many problems and the longer you don’t do anything about it – the worse things can get. Your body views these food particles as a foreign substance and it attacks it resulting in headaches, allergies, etc.  It shows up in everyone’s body a little differently.  It is so crucial to know what feels good for your body.

Here are 3 options you can do to learn your food senstitives.

  1. Do a blood test with your doctor. This is usually expensive and not everything can show up on the blood test.
  2. Follow an elimination diet by removing the top suspect foods. These include: gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, corn, nuts, and peanuts.
  3. Do a full elimination diet. This includes no gluten, dairy, soy, eggs, corn, nuts, peanuts, nightshade vegetables, or citrus.

The elimination diet starts with removing all these foods for 2 weeks. You are letting your body heal and remove any chance of toxins. Then after the 2 weeks, you will re-introduce a new food every 2 days. You will want to keep a journal to track your symptoms and really pay attention to how your body feels.

Even if you don’t suspect any allergies, I think doing the elimination diet is such a good way to really get in tune with your body.  There is so much power around knowing what foods your body does and doesn’t like (besides just taste).  The food you eat is there to help you perform your best in the world each and every day. When you have this knowledge, you can use it to your advantage and truly choose how you want your body to feel! If you know that sugar is going to cause your brain to fog up, you can strategically make the choice NOT to eat the cookie at that point in time!

Understanding and using this has been transformative for me in improving my energy. If you have questions or need guidance, feel free to send me an email at chelsea@chelseajolene.com
